Moss Macro - Crappy but Beautiful!

I must have taken a gazillion photos of the moss yesterday - in the break between storms.

Many of them turned out like this - CRAPPY but BEAUTIFUL!

It's a Bird! It's a Tree! It's a CRAPPY PHOTO!

A splash of yellow in the oak tree caught my eye ...
A beautiful bird!!!
I focused my camera ... zoomed in ... click!

What kind of exotic bird did I find?
I ran into the house ... and brought it up on the computer ... zoomed up really close ...
My beautiful yellow bird was ...
Just this "bughouse" ... glowing yellow in the sun.
It's still there, up in the tree, trying to trick me again - into thinking it is something other than a CRAPPY PHOTO!!!

Laser Pitch Heart ...

My camera doesn't do too well without lots and lots of light (preferably sunlight!) ... which we haven't had here lately.
I was trying to take some pictures of drops of pitch on a tree ... they all turned out blurry! Sigh.

I had a brainstorm to use a laser to highlight the pitch drops ... and wouldn't you know it, the one photo that (sort of) turned out ... while still a CRAPPY PHOTO - has a beautiful laser heart reflection!

The Spirit of Christmas Lights ...

I actually took this picture 2 years ago ... we haven't had much snow since then.

It was early morning, and we all trooped outside to marvel at the beauty of the tree lights against the snow ... and take some photos.

Of all of the shots I got that morning, only this first one had these eerie wisps surrounding the tree. The others were clear.

Was it the "spirit" of Christmas?
Or just my camera adjusting to the cold?
Who cares? For a CRAPPY PHOTO, it sure is beautiful!

There were these really cute tiny grasses growing up through the gravel of the abandoned parking lot ... one of them was shaped like a heart!
