I saw the heart on the spatula someone left in the cast iron skillet.

When I used the flash, the heart disappeared!

When I didn't use the flash, all I got was this

When I used the flash, the heart disappeared.

When I didn't, I could see the heart ... out of focus in the gloom ... but still a heart!

So I have to classify this as a CRAPPY PHOTO.

Herb Robert Flower, Crappy Photo!

I was trying to capture the delicate beauty of the (dreaded) Herb Robert flower before I pulled up this highly invasive plant.

And while the flower part of the photo is CRAPPY, the background turned out sharp and interesting in its own way!!!

Bird on a Fence

They had a ground-breaking over at the housing development just up the street ... they're putting in a community recreation area. This is some of the first construction activity I've seen over there in several years. Much of the property still shows signs of the original "master planned" community that was to be ... like fenced in tree patches that were to be saved from construction ...

There really is a scrub jay in the middle of this shot ...

Apparently it didn't like it's picture being taken and jumped behind the tree leaves at the last second!

So ... even though it's a CRAPPY PHOTO of the bird, it's still a great picture of the patterns in the "seen better days" fence.

It's time for "Friday Fences"!!!

Nice Story - CRAPPY Photo

I must have walked too close to the nest of the tiny hummingbird ...

Or maybe curiosity of the stranger in its world overcame him ...

Because suddenly he appeared - in my face.

When I say "in my face", I mean seriously up close and personal.

For a moment I thought this cutie was going to start pecking my glasses!

I stood in awe and amazement as the little bird hovered for a moment, then flitted to a nearby branch.

That's when I dared to move my camera ...

But wouldn't you know it - the one picture I was "allowed" to take ...

Turned out to be a CRAPPY photo!!!

Vetch Heart - Crappy Photo!

One of the last photos taken with my trusty old Canon before it's demise ...

I was trying to focus on the flower, and got the green stringy things instead.

But the CRAPPY PHOTO turned into a moment of discovery - the flower was a blurry little heart!

Distant Mountain Heart - Crappy Photo

When I took this shot of through the window of Dad's hospital room, I had forgotten how much my camera HATES glass ...

But even though it's a CRAPPY PHOTO, it's still the only one I have of the heart in the distant mountain range!
(do you see it? It's a tiny snowy shadow heart to the right of the center)

I was trying to take a picture of the heart-shaped lily pad leaf in the pond ... it didn't work, and turned out to be a CRAPPY photo ... with heart!

Coyote Bop Heart!

We have several packs of coyotes that roam the property across the street. Sometimes at night their cries are rather close and disturbing!!!

As I walked along the trail, I found this pile of coyote, er, bop.

In it was a heart!!!

Sometimes it's not the quality of the photo but the content that makes it a CRAPPY PHOTO!

Moss Macro - Crappy but Beautiful!

I must have taken a gazillion photos of the moss yesterday - in the break between storms.

Many of them turned out like this - CRAPPY but BEAUTIFUL!

It's a Bird! It's a Tree! It's a CRAPPY PHOTO!

A splash of yellow in the oak tree caught my eye ...
A beautiful bird!!!
I focused my camera ... zoomed in ... click!

What kind of exotic bird did I find?
I ran into the house ... and brought it up on the computer ... zoomed up really close ...
My beautiful yellow bird was ...
Just this "bughouse" ... glowing yellow in the sun.
It's still there, up in the tree, trying to trick me again - into thinking it is something other than a CRAPPY PHOTO!!!

Laser Pitch Heart ...

My camera doesn't do too well without lots and lots of light (preferably sunlight!) ... which we haven't had here lately.
I was trying to take some pictures of drops of pitch on a tree ... they all turned out blurry! Sigh.

I had a brainstorm to use a laser to highlight the pitch drops ... and wouldn't you know it, the one photo that (sort of) turned out ... while still a CRAPPY PHOTO - has a beautiful laser heart reflection!

The Spirit of Christmas Lights ...

I actually took this picture 2 years ago ... we haven't had much snow since then.

It was early morning, and we all trooped outside to marvel at the beauty of the tree lights against the snow ... and take some photos.

Of all of the shots I got that morning, only this first one had these eerie wisps surrounding the tree. The others were clear.

Was it the "spirit" of Christmas?
Or just my camera adjusting to the cold?
Who cares? For a CRAPPY PHOTO, it sure is beautiful!
